Daniel Hellinger is Professor Emeritus of International Relations Webster University. He holds the Ph.D. in political science from Rutgers University and joined the Webster faculty in 1979. Best known as an expert on Latin America, he has also a published author on US politics and conspiracy theories. His most recent book is Conspiracy and Conspiracy Theories in the Age of Trump (Palgrave MacMillan, 2019). Other books includee Global Security Watch: Venezuela (Praeger 2012), Comparative Politics of Latin America: Democracy at Last? (Routledge, 2nd edition, 2013) and (co-editor) Bolivarian Democracy in Venezuela: Participation, Politics and Culture. He coauthored the Democratic Façade (about US politics 2001, 2003). He will be a Fulbright visiting professor at the Autonomous University of Madrid in 2019, has been a Senior Research scholar at St. Antony's College, Oxford, and a visiting professor at the Central University of Venezuela and Shanghai Institute for Finance and Economics. He has held two Fulbrights at the Universidad Católica in Valparaíso, Chile.
